The Great Smoky Mountains to Biltmore House

The last leg of our trip with a hike through Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited park in the US

On our last night we lodged at the Inn at the Biltmore Estate. Nearby Biltmore House was the grand home of George W. Vanderbilt and is the largest home ever built in the US as well as a dramatic architectural wonder. What a cool kitchen and the view from the third floor takes me back to the pre-golden age of America at the turn of the century.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” - Mark Twain
